Suggested items to put in Military Boxes:
Travel size: toothpaste, toothbrush, hand soap shampoo, sun screen, plain baby wipes - most of these travel items are available at Irwin's Drug.
Oatmeal cookies, M&M cookies (don't uses chocolate chip as they melt), beef jerky, hard candy (lifesavers, ets.), granola bars, gummy bears, dried fruit, nuts in shells such as peanuts or pistachios, fruit leather, phone cards, batteries (AA and AAA), white socks - available at Costco (makes great packing material), flip flops in colors, playing cards, books - paperbacks, Christian paperbacks, Our Daily Bread books (even past months) magazines - especially hunting ones for men and don't forget some good ones for the women, if you are sending to a woman - small Bibles.
Include a self-addressed stamped postcard from you, so maybe they will send back a thank you note. Feel free to go in with someone else to share in getting items for a box. God bless you for doing this for our service men and women!
